WINTER MODE: SET & FORGET
❄️ WINTER MODE — INSTALLER CHEAT SHEET (Controller‑Specific)
🔧 1. Winter Mode Activation
- Enable Winter Mode — reduces filtration, chlorination, and heating logic
- Confirm correct mode on display — avoid customer confusion
- Check automation handover — ensure pump/heat sources follow controller logic
🔁 2. Filtration Scheduling
- Set winter filtration hours — 2–4 hrs/day
- Run during warmest part of day — 11am–3pm
- Split into short cycles — improves chemical distribution
⚙️ 3. Pump RPM Profiles
- Set low‑RPM winter profile — 900–1400 RPM
- Allow auto‑RPM boost for heating — only when heating is active
- Disable high‑RPM cleaning cycles — unless manually triggered
🌞 4. Solar Heating Lockout
- Turn Solar OFF or Standby — prevents cold‑roof water
- Check roof sensor health — avoid false heating calls
- Disable boost/extended heat — unnecessary in winter
🔥 5. Heat Pump Winter Logic
- Disable heating unless requested — default OFF
- If heating ON: daytime only — prevents overnight run
- Lower setpoint by 2–4°C — reduces energy use
💧 6. Anti‑Stagnation Cycles
- Enable short burst cycles — 5–10 mins every 24–48 hrs
- Low RPM only — just enough to move water
- Independent of main schedule — runs even when filtration is off
🌡️ 7. Sensor Calibration & Drift
- Check water temp sensor — cold weather drift
- Check roof sensor — solar lockout accuracy
- Check pipe sensor — heating logic stability
🧊 8. Freeze Protection (If Supported)
- Enable freeze protection — 2–4°C
- Set low‑RPM freeze circulation
- Disable heating during freeze events
📣 9. Customer Notes (Prevent Call‑Backs)
- Explain reduced run times
- Explain solar/heating lockout
- Explain low RPM operation
